Installation is as simple as unplugging the original Atari chip from the socket on the main game board and plugging the new module into the same socket.
Be extremely careful to make sure that pin number 1 as indicated on the board goes to the correct end of the socket. Align pin 1 as indicated on the BXAVG board with pin 1 of the game board socket. Note the silkscreen image (painted outline) on the game board. There should be a notch in the line indicating the end of the socket towards which pin1 must go. Also, there is a physical notch in the plastic frame of the socket itself. This notch always points to pin 1.
WARNING: Plugging the module in backwards and powering it up that way will likely destroy the new module's chip. Modules subjected to such abuse will not be replaced for free.
Below are pictures of the BXAVG installed in the six games that support the Atari AVG chip.

Major Havoc:
In the case of Major Havoc, there are some large EPROM chips near the AVG socket. The BXAVG requires a little more height above the game board to clear those EPROM chips. Simply install an extra good quality DIP-40 chip socket into the original AVG socket to add the required height. Then plug in the BXAVG.
